Hungary to start analogue broadcast rollback in October
The rollback of Hungary's analogue terrestrial broadcasting network will start at the end of October, András Piller, CEO of Antenna Hungária, the company in charge of the rollout of terrestrial digital broadcasting in Hungary, said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The rollback will start when public television channel M1's analogue transmitter in Barcs is switched off, Piller said.
The number of Hungarians who use Antenna Hungária's digital MinDig TV services, which are free of charge, is expected to grow by 150,000 and reach almost half a million by the beginning of next year, he said.
Antenna Hungária has spent some HUF 25 billion on the digital rollout since 2008.
