Gov’t not planning to change commercial accommodation rules
Hungaryʼs government is not planning any changes to the regulations or taxation of commercial accommodations, the National Economy Ministry said on Wednesday, in response to a query by Hungarian news agency MTI.
The ministry added, however, that if tax authorities uncover regulatory shortfalls or tax loopholes during audits, it will take the necessary steps to investigate the matter.
The number of Hungarian homes listed on vacation rental site Airbnb has reached 8,000, and demand for small apartments that can be rented out to travelers in the center of Budapest has grown substantially, according to reports.
