Ford sales up 6.7% in Q1 in Hungary

The Hungarian subsidiary of U.S.-based car company Ford sold a total of 3,144 personal vehicles in the first quarter, up 6.7% as compared to the same period a year earlier, preserving its market leading position, according to a press release issued today.

The figures granted Ford a market share of 12.87% in the first quarter, according to the press release. 

In the commercial vehicle market, Ford sold 545 vehicles in March, up 20% as compared to the same month a year earlier, reaching a market share of 27.97%. In the first quarter the brand sold 1,297 commercial vehicles.

“Considering the first quarter, the most significant result in terms of commercial vehicles was the success of market leading Transit models … [of which the company] sold 983,” Ford Hungary CEO Viktor Szamosi said.
