Dunaferr workers go on strike
Employees and the management failed to reach an agreement at steel maker ISD Dunaferr Zrt, leading workers to declare a strike of indefinite duration from Wednesday. The walkout pertains to this year’s wage increases, which employees demanded should be above 5% to follow inflation. The company first proposed 2.1% which was raised to 3.5% last week, showing some glimmer of hope that a deal would be achieved. If Wednesday’s strike isn’t successful the labor interest groups are prepared to engage in further demonstrations, a union leader said.
