City to call metro 3 tender in weeks
Budapest's Municipal Operations Centre will call a tender for the renovation or replacement of stations, tracks and vehicles for the capital's number three underground line, business daily Világgazdaság said on Thursday, without citing any sources. The city could take delivery of 30 new trains for the line by 2015, availing of European Union funding from the 2007-2013 budget period, the paper said. If not, the trains may have to wait for funding available in the 2014-2020 budget period, when the entire number three line will need to be renovated, it added.
