Bosch chief is BBJ/HIPA Expat CEO of the Year
Javier González Pareja, CEO of Bosch Magyarország, was recognized as the most important foreign CEO in Hungary at a gala held last night to present the first annual BBJ/HIPA Expat CEO Awards. Kersten Bachmann, CEO of TAKATA Safety Systems Hungary Kft., received the HIPA Local Partnership award in recognition of his firm's use of local suppliers.

Sponsored by the Budapest Business Journal and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), in cooperation with PwC Hungary and the Kempinski Hotel, the awards honored the expat CEO who was seen as making the most important contribution to the Hungarian economy and society.
In receiving his award from PwC's Kós, the Expat CEO of the Year, González Pareja of Bosch, said “When I was appointed for Hungary, I set the establishment of innovation, trust and success as the main aim for my work in the country. The corporate successes of the last year proves that I have chosen the right path. With my team, we work to make Bosch an important player of the Hungarian economic scene.” Bosch Magyarország employs 10,000 people in Hungary. “The biggest development center of Bosch in the European Union is located here in Hungary,” González Pareja said.
Bachmann, whose prize recognized his efforts to use Hungarian suppliers, received his award from HIPA CEO Róbert Ésik. “This award is a milestone in the activities of our company, and I am honored to receive it” Bachmann said. Pictured below are Ésik, left, and Bachmann, at the gala last night.
