Excluding the capital, guest nights reached 10.7 mln, rising close to 4% from the base period, although the number at destinations around Lake Balaton increased 6.3%. Guest nights booked by foreign tourists outside of the capital climbed 7.2%.
About 87% of guest nights spent by domestic travelers and 35% by foreign tourists were booked outside of the capital.
The highest numbers of foreign visitors to areas other than the capital came from Germany, Czechia, Austria, Romania, and Poland. The most popular destinations for foreign tourists, other than Budapest, were Lake Balaton, Debrecen, and the Bük-Sárvár region.
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) will release June guest night data on July 30.
