Booking data suggest guest nights at tourism accommodations in Hungary will rise by 10% on Valentine's Day and by 12% at the weekend following, the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Foreigners account for about half of bookings for February 14 and 45% of those for February 16-18, figures from the National Tourism Data Service Center (NTAK) show. Visitors from Germany, the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic are expected to form the largest numbers of foreign guests at the weekend. In the capital, Brits, Spaniards and Italians have booked the most nights, while Czechs, Austrians and Germans have made the most reservations at other destinations around the country.

Spa towns are the biggest draw outside of the capital, led by Hévíz, home to Europe's largest thermal lake.

The share of bookings for Valentine's Day is about the same for young people, young adults and middle-aged travelers, the agency said.
