Although the two demonstrations are reportedly being organized independently, both marches are expected to end at the Hungarian Ministry of Human Capacities on Arany János utca.
The Chamber of Hungarian Health Care Workers (MESZK) is scheduled to gather on Hősök tere at 5.45 pm and protesters will march along Andrássy út in white scrubs adorned with red-white-green ribbons. MESZK has emphasized that the demonstration is politically unbiased and is instead protesting the “humiliatingly low” salaries of health care workers in Hungary.
The Independent Union of Health Care Workers (FESZ) has scheduled its gathering for 4.30 pm at Clark Ádám tér and is planning to march across the Chainbridge (Lánchíd) toward Kossuth tér. The demonstration is backed by a number of Hungarian health care associations. The union is demonstrating for the “establishment of secure patient care”, the “establishment of career path”, for “salary raises” and for the “abolition of gratuities”.
