In the first half of 2014, more than 16,000 companies were launched, and this number dropped to slightly more than 12,500 in HI 2015, Bisnode said. According to the business information company, if no changes are made to the legislation involved in launching a company, this year could see a record low of new companies, around 24,000. This would be a significant drop from last year’s 30,000.
According to Bisnode, less people believe that by launching their own company they can achieve a stable income. Based on the decreasing number of new companies and the increasing number of terminated companies, there appears to be a diminishing entrepreneurial spirit in the country.
Bisnodeʼs survey states that until 2011, the number of new companies was on the rise, however since then, this number has decreased dramatically.
