Lake Balaton Tourism Increased Last Weekend

The number of visitors to accommodation on the shores of Lake Balaton increased by 7% on the second sunny weekend in July compared to the first, rainy weekend, based on the data of the National Tourist Information Center (NTAK), writes profitline.hu.

According to mobile cell data, 12% more one-day visitors visited Lake Balaton compared to a week earlier, the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) announced.

The most popular destination, with 26,000 guest nights, was Siófok (110 km southwest of Budapest), followed by Balatonfüred (125 km southwest) with almost 20,000 nights spent, but Hévíz (185 km southwest), Balatonlelle (145 km southwest) and Zamárdi (120 km southwest) were also popular.
