Foreign Tourists Spend 35% More in Q4

Foreign tourists' spending in Hungary increased 35% year-on-year to HUF 732 bln in the fourth quarter of last year in current prices, according to a summary of data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Austrian visitors spent the most, at HUF 124 bln, up around 50% from a year earlier. German tourists spent HUF 96 bln, up around 75%.

In the full year 2023, foreign tourists spent HUF 3.137 tln in Hungary in current prices, 36% more than a year earlier.

Foreigners spent HUF 27,500 a day on average, up 28% from the previous year.
