Domestic Weekend Holiday Bookings Increase

The average prices at Lake Balaton and Lake Velence are similar, an average of HUF 12,600 and HUF 12,570, respectively, and Lake Tisza is still the least expensive option, an average of HUF 9,400 per person per night.

Balaton is still the most popular destination, with a third of's summer bookings in the region, while only 1.2% of bookings are for Lake Velence, and 3.1% for Lake Tisza.

The popularity of booking apartments on Lake Balaton has increased. Last year it accounted for 38% of summer bookings, while this year it reached 40%. Hotels in the region were chosen for every fourth reservation in both years.

“It is interesting, for example, that at Lake Balaton, we see an increase in the number of bookings in the 4-star and non-star hotel categories, while we experience a decrease in the other categories,” explains Kelemen.

In addition, Zsolt Szabó, head of the programs and attractions department, shares that Festetics Castle, Szigliget Castle, and Plázs - Siófok are among the most attractive attractions at Lake Balaton.

At Lake Tisza, many people visit the Lake Tisza Eco Center, the Free Beach in Tiszafüred and the Tisza Beach in Abádszalók. At Lake Velence, many people visit the Velence Spa Thermal and Adventure Bath, the Pákozd Military Memorial Park, and the Velence Free Beach.
