Most holidaymakers are planning a vacation of no more than one week, the survey showed.
Among those who have already decided on a destination, two-thirds plan to travel within Hungary.
Some 15% said they wanted to vacation at Lake Balaton, even though most respondents said a trip abroad was more affordable than staying at the “Hungarian Sea.”
The survey also showed that 24% of respondents plan to spend less than HUF 100,000 per person on their summer holiday, while 28% expect to spend under HUF 200,000.
The representative survey of 1,000 people was conducted by NRC in April. Day trips were excluded from the research.
