Hungary's Budapest Airport is anticipating welcoming more than one million passengers monthly throughout the winter season, schengenvisainfo.com reports.

According to the airport operator, travelers from Budapest now have access to 107 destinations served by 36 airlines, offering a wide range of choices for those planning a getaway.

"I feel that Budapest Airport is well on the way to attracting more passengers and flights to Hungary in the future, thus contributing to the development of the Hungarian national economy and tourism," said Balázs Bogáts, chief commercial officer at Budapest Airport.

The high expectations for passenger traffic at Budapest Ferenc List International Airport come as no surprise, considering its successful summer season and recognition in March as the Best Airport in Europe with 15-25 million passengers by Airports Council International, schengenvisainfo.com adds.
