Museum of Fine Arts closes for reconstruction
The Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest yesterday closed its doors for a three-year-long reconstruction. It is to be reopened in 2018 as part of the new Museum Quarter in the capital’s largest park, Városliget, or City Park, according to plans announced by the city.
During the development of the Museum Quarter project, the museum will be reconstructed entirely, and artworks will be rehoused in the building from the summer of 2017, according to plans. The new exhibitions are expected to be launched as of the spring of 2018.
