The Liszt Academy is one of three institutions in Central and Eastern Europe that made the top 100 list. The other two schools are the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.

QS recognized the Liszt Academyʼs reputation, as well as its recognition in the scholarly sphere, including research in the field of music. According to the press release, the importance and success of scholarly activities conducted in the Kodály Institute and Liszt Museum are reflected in the fact that the academyʼs peers are often invited to institutions such as Bard College in the U.S.

Additionally, the researchers of the Liszt Museum fulfil a leading role in keeping together and assisting the cooperation of the international network of Liszt heritage sites.

The academyʼs high score was also supported by the frequency of citations of works by the institution, the faculty/student ratio, the opinion of employers about academy graduates working at their firm, and the institutionʼs international openness.
