It invested a total of Ft 1.3 billion (€5 million, $7.3 million) in a 500 square meter building extension and the addition of an unspecified number of new injection molding machines and new tooling. BTH Fitting was set up originally in 1998, by German pipe connections producer BT Bautechnik Impex of Oberschleissheim.
The Hungarian business has seen its production increase steadily since its launch with a focus on supplying molded PVC sewage and waste water fittings and inspection chambers. In the last year, BTH has added production of polypropylene sanitary pipe fittings to its portfolio. As well as serving the Hungarian plastic pipe market and wholesale traders, BTH exports much of its output to Central and Eastern Europe, particularly to Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine and Russia.
