Big Brewers' Sales Fall 10% in 2023

Sales volume of Hungary's biggest brewers dropped 10% to 540 million liters last year, the head of the Hungarian Brewers Association told MTI.
Sándor Kántor said imports fell 28% to 64 million liters, while exports declined 16% to 38 mln liters.
Domestic production slipped 8% to 514 mln liters, he added.
Sales of premium and super premium beers came to 166 mln liters, 31% of total sales. Sales of beers in the mid-range category reached 296 mln liters, 55% of the total. The sales volume of non-alcoholic and low alcohol content beers was 36 mln liters, 7% of the total.
Sales of beer in barrels to catering establishments declined 9% to 39 mln litres
Beer in aluminum cans accounted for 70% of domestic sales.
The association data includes sales of Borsodi, Dreher, Heineken Hungaria, Carlsberg Hungary, and Pécsi Sörfőzde.
