1st Headliners for Sziget 2024 Announced

Europe’s biggest festival has announced the first headliners and 35 names for the first wave of acts to descend the stages; the names include Stormzy, Fred again.., Sam Smith, and Martin Garrix. Taking place from August 7-12, 2024, the Island of Freedom will also welcome the likes of Amémé, Blondshell, Crystal Fighters, Eris Drew & Octo Octa, Fontaines D.C., Four Tet, Honey Dijon, Joost, Joesef, Joker Out, Louis Tomlinson, L’Impératrice, Meute, Nia Archives, Dom Dolla, Nova Twins, Overmono, Pip Blom, Warhaus,  plus more to be announced.

Spanning over 6 days, every year Sziget transforms Budapest’s Óbuda Island into the "The Island of Freedom", evolving the site into a choose-your-own-adventure arena that welcomes thousands of visitors from over 100 countries. For 2024, music fans can expect a rich variety of entertainment with more than 50 stages celebrating music, theatre, cabaret, comedy, art, and much more.

In 2024, Sziget will welcome the U.K.’s sweetheart, Fred again.. celebrated for his boundary-pushing production style that seamlessly blends genres that take his audience on a ride to euphoria, excitement and nostalgia. The incandescent Sam Smith will captivate audiences worldwide with their silky, soulful voice and bold performances. Bringing more UK charisma to the main stage is Big Mike, better known as Stormzy, renowned for his energetic live presence and being grime’s most versatile voice. The dynamic lineup is also welcoming the internationally acclaimed DJ and producer, Martin Garrix, known for his EDM hits and impressive sound and lighting show display.

Four Tet, the pioneering electronic maestro is set to mesmerize with his eclectic sounds, while Fontaines D.C., the Dublin-based post-punk juggernauts, promise a raw and captivating live experience, showcasing their critically acclaimed discography. Big Thief, led by the haunting vocals of Adrianne Lenker, crafts intimate indie-folk landscapes, intertwining raw emotion with poetic storytelling, while Aurora, the ethereal Norwegian pop enchantress, will capture the crowds at Sziget with her hypnotic sounds.

Building on the star-studded roster is chart-topping sensation Becky Hill, who will be bringing her infectious blend of pop and dance anthems to the masses. The Parisian electro-pop sensation, L’Impératrice, will enchant audiences with their dreamy and danceable sounds, while pioneers of electro-folk fusion Crystal Fighters will deliver their vibrant and innovative sounds deeply rooted in positive messaging creating non-stop feel-good vibes.

Honey Dijon, a global icon in the electronic music scene, will command the dance floor with her signature mix of house and techno beats, as well as, Australian DJ and producer Dom Dolla who reigns supreme on the dance floor, delivering infectious house anthems. Also joining the line-up is Anotr, a duo based in Amsterdam whose hypnotic music is characterized by energetic rhythms mixed with disco, soul, funk, jazz and other musical influences. Overmono, the Welsh brothers creating an electronic storm of sound will shake up the crowd at Sziget, alongside, Nia Archives, who has been dominating the DnB game. Elsewhere, dance lovers will enjoy the unstoppable creative force of Eris Drew & Octo Octa, whose sets are a celebration of their love for each other, dance music and the queer community.

Yard Act, the post-punk provocateurs will deliver their socially conscious and fiercely energetic tunes, while Joesef hailed as one of the UK's most exciting new talents, will showcase his soulful voice and emotionally charged lyrics. Warhaus, known for his immersive sound seeped in raw emotion will be a truly mesmerizing musical experience for the crowds at Sziget. Parisian DJ Chloé Caillet spins across genres, from deep house to techno, creating immersive and eclectic experiences for her audience, while Colombian DJ and producer AMÉMÉ will ignite the dance floor with his energetic set.

Also on this year's bill is dynamic U.K. duo Nova Twins, known for their explosive fusion of punk, rock, and electronic elements. Joost, the Dutch rapper and producer who commands attention with his distinctive style, fusing witty lyricism with infectious beats, Blondshell with her infectious energy and genre-defying sound leaving audiences in awe. Norwegian pop sensation Dagny delivers infectious and empowering anthems that showcase her dynamic vocals and vibrant energy.

Reflecting on how this diverse lineup reflects the vibrant and vast audience Sziget attracts every year, CEO of Sziget Festival, Tamás Kádár shares, “We have already received a lot of positive feedback during this year's Sziget about how much the festival has improved in almost all areas compared to the 2022 Sziget, and from the early bird ticket sales so far we can observe that there is a huge interest in the 2024 festival". He continues "This announcement, which is only the first ‘package’ for now, shows that next year Sziget will also feature big world stars, current artists and newly discovered musical specialities, so that everyone will be offered a strong and exciting selection of music, regardless of genre”.

This celebration promises to be a global gathering of creativity, unity, and unforgettable moments, solidifying Sziget's reputation as one of the world's premier music festivals.
