Budapest motorway bypass to become partial toll road

Telco

The Budapest M0 motorway, which circumvents Budapest, will become a partial toll road as of January, however certain stretches are not entitled to become toll-equipped, as they were refurbished with EU support, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

Only specific segments of the M31 motorway linking to the M3 will remain toll free, Hungarian online daily nol.hu reported, citing the Development Ministry. In addition to the current range of motorway toll payment options, a new annual vignette will be introduced at HUF 5,000 that allows cars to use toll roads within a specific county, MTI added.
