During an interview with Hungarian commercial channel ATV, the state secretary said that it is yet be determined what will be the consequence of tomorrow’s civil disobedience planned by teachers, but the worst-case scenario is that teachers will need to hold a complementary class at a later date.
Teachers included in a Facebook group initiative callled “Tanítanék”, which translates as “I would teach”, are planning to leave classes tomorrow morning for an hour between 8:00-9:00 am, to draw the governmentʼs attention to what they claim is an erratic education system in Hungary.
The organizer of the movement, István Pukli, who is the principal of a secondary school in Hungary, stressed that teachers who join his initiative will be engaging in unlawful activities, deemed as civil disobedience.
