The forecast, based on Eurostat's EUROPOP 2019 analysis, showed that the demographic decline will shrink Poland's production-age population (men of 18-64 years of age and women of 18-59) by 0.8 million people by 2025.

The pre-production age group (0-17) is expected to fall by 194,000. But the post-production age group (65 and over for men, 60 and over for women) is expected to rise by 700,000. The forecast's authors wrote that the changes within the population structure reflect well the ratio of people in the production-age group to the number of people in post-production age.
