The tender is open for public transport companies operating in the agglomeration area of Budapest and in cities with a population above 25,000.

Funding intensity will be 80% for bus purchases and 60% for establishing charging infrastructure. The ITM expects that around 300-350 buses could be purchased through the tender.

Applications can be submitted from May 5 until September 30. 

The ITM noted that the government will be providing complete pre-financing for the tender as funding will be provided from Hungary's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), but that plan has still not been approved by the European Commission.
