The disruptions affected both the Android and iOS apps.

According to Revb, an error message appeared immediately after users opened the app. The portal’s author reported experiencing the problem firsthand, while similar complaints appeared in a Hungarian Revolut community group on Facebook.

The reported issues prevented users from exchanging currencies, with the app failing to display the converted amount or activate the transaction button. Users attempting transfers received a message saying the recipient’s details could not be loaded.

Revb also reported declined card payments, unsuccessful ATM withdrawals and incoming transfers from external banks failing to arrive.

Despite the reported disruptions, Revolut’s system status page indicated that all services were operational after 8 a.m., according to the portal. The company’s Hungary status page also displayed “All systems are operational” when checked for this article.

Revb suggested the problems could stem from a central technical issue because both mobile platforms were affected. The report did not establish the cause or the number of users affected.

UPDATE: Revolut Acknowledges Disruption

Revolut’s official status page subsequently acknowledged widespread disruptions, listing multiple affected functions in Hungary. These included card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, currency exchange and login, alongside customer support and several Revolut Business services. The page indicated that the issues had been detected at 9:47 a.m on October 20.
