According to reporting by Economx and Portfolio, the approval, issued on July 20, followed an application submitted in March 2025 and several rounds of regulatory review by the MNB.

The license covers six service categories, including crypto custody, exchange, conversion, advisory, portfolio management and transfer services, giving CoinCash one of the broadest authorizations in the region.

Hungary set one of the EU’s strictest MiCA compliance deadlines, July 1, 2025, which led most domestic crypto firms to shut down or relocate abroad, leaving CoinCash as the only provider completing the full Hungarian licensing process.

The company suspended operations in December 2025 during the approval procedure but now plans a gradual service restart over the coming months, with existing clients to be notified directly about the rollout schedule.
