The show is the 10th edition of Art Corner by Clark & Leo, the exhibition series hosted by the bistro and the Michelin Key-recognized hotel. It brings together works from the past decade, selected specifically for the two venues, including previously exhibited pieces and works being shown to the public for the first time.

Known primarily as a designer and visual artist, kissmiklos uses the exhibition both to reflect on his work to date and to indicate the direction of the next chapter of his career.

At the center of “Lobbyism” is a question closely connected to his practice across design and fine art: Where does decoration end and a work of art begin?

The exhibition asks whether an object becomes art when placed in a gallery, or decoration when encountered in a hotel lobby or restaurant. It examines that implicit hierarchy and considers why art displayed in lobbies often remains on the margins of conventional discussions about art, despite its ability to shape a venue’s identity, prompt conversation and reach new audiences.

The setting is therefore integral to the concept. The works appear in the everyday spaces of Leo Bistro and Hotel Clark Budapest, where the boundaries between art, design and decoration become blurred. Visitors are invited to decide for themselves where those boundaries lie.

At the opening of the anniversary exhibition, guests were greeted by a new Audi Q8 at the hotel entrance. The evening began with a champagne toast, followed by a viewing of the exhibition and dinner at Leo Bistro, with a menu created by chef Roland Varga. Guests received a kissmiklos publication at the end of the evening.

The exhibition marks a milestone for both the Art Corner series and the artist: its 10th show coincides with kissmiklos closing a defining period of his design career and committing his creative practice to fine art.
