Andersen Hungary, Baker McKenzie, PwC Hungary, and Siemens Energy Hungary sponsored the event.
The event aimed to address one central question: Can Hungary create the conditions for a new investment cycle? It featured a keynote speech by State Secretary for Economic Development Dr. Ágnes Fábián of the Ministry for Economy and Energy, followed by two roundtable panels.
The first Economy Roundtable was called Hungary’s Economic Outlook and the Next Investment Cycle. Fábián was joined by Árpád Goszták, CEO of Siemens Energy Hungary; Ákos Fehérváry, managing partner at Baker McKenzie; and László Radványi, CEO of PwC Hungary.
To build a functioning economy, the panelists agreed all parties need flexibility, cooperation, education, efficiency, transparency, communication, and patience.

The second Investment Panel, titled Strengthening Hungary’s Investment Environment, featured Deputy State Secretary for Investment and Strategic Investments Szabolcs Markovszky of the Ministry for Economy and Energy; Bernhard Haider, CEO of Aldi Hungary; Károly Radnai, managing partner of Andersen Hungary; and András Sávos, CEO of MetMax Europe.
Key takeaways included the need for a mindset shift among SMEs and investors, long-term thinking, diversification, targeted investment clusters, open discussion (Markovszky promised the government would be “world champions at listening”), and quick wins to build confidence that change will come. There was also a call to rethink taxation, and concern was raised about Hungary’s demographics.
