Held as part of European Mobility Week, the event will extend from Kálvin tér to the Buda end of Liberty Bridge, along the Pest lower embankment and, for the first time, onto Műegyetem rakpart.
BKK and the Budapest municipality will offer interactive games, mobility-themed city walks, family and children’s activities, and vehicle exhibitions. Food trucks will operate on Vámház körút, where a vehicle display will take place on the tram tracks from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
Road Closures Begin Friday Evening
The Pest lower embankment between Elizabeth Bridge and Margaret Bridge will close at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
On Saturday and Sunday, closures will cover Műegyetem rakpart, Liberty Bridge, Vámház körút as far as Lónyay utca, and the Pest lower embankment between Margaret Bridge and Közraktár utca. Belgrád rakpart will also close between Havas utca and Fővám tér.
The restrictions will create car-free areas for visitors, including Jane Haining rakpart and the lower embankment sections opened to pedestrians.
Trams 47, 48 and 49 Suspended
Trams 47, 48 and 49 will not operate on either day. Alternative tram services will run on the Buda side.
Tram 61 will operate on an extended route between Hűvösvölgy and Városház tér. An additional 61B service will run Saturday between Hűvösvölgy and Savoya Park.
Tram 56A will also be extended, running between Hűvösvölgy and Kelenföld railway station to serve the affected outer section of Bartók Béla út.
During the Liberty Bridge closure, BKK recommends metro line M4, trams 4 and 6, and buses 7 and 133E. The tram and bus routes will retain their usual routes and schedules. For travel through the downtown area affected by the suspension of the Small Boulevard trams, passengers can use metro line M3, bus 9 and trolleybus 72.
Bus and Trolleybus Diversions
Trolleybus 83 will be diverted via Lónyay utca, using the former bus 15 stops between Czuczor utca and Kálvin tér. Bus 15 will operate on a shortened route between Gyöngyösi utca and Ferenciek tere.
Bus 107 will be diverted in Buda, using the bus 133E stop at Szent Gellért tér–Műegyetem and the bus 154 stop at the Buda end of Petőfi Bridge. Bus 223E will also be diverted and will not serve Fővám tér.
Overnight Friday into Saturday and Saturday into Sunday, buses 923, 934, 966 and 979 will follow diverted routes, skipping Zsil utca and Fővám tér.
Night buses 922, 992B and 988 will operate via Petőfi Bridge and Boráros tér on those nights, skipping stops between Móricz Zsigmond körtér and Fővám tér.
BKK advises passengers to plan journeys using the BudapestGO app, which provides routes based on real-time service information and allows users to purchase tickets and passes.
