This brings the total number of seats available on the route to more than 2,000,, the airport says. By improving connections to South Korea, this expansion further strengthens the Hungarian economy and business ties between the two countries.

“Asiana Airlines joining the network accessible from Budapest is an important milestone for both Budapest Airport and the Hungarian economy,” said Máté Lóga, chairman of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport. “With nearly 100,000 direct and 50,000 connecting passengers, South Korea is currently one of our most important intercontinental partner countries.”

“The new flight opens up new opportunities for business and leisure travelers currently traveling by changing flights and further strengthens the steadily expanding economic and cultural ties between the Hungarian government and South Korea. The direct flight between the Hungarian capital and Seoul is already operating with high load factors, so we are confident in the success of this new connection,” he added.

The launch of the new flight further strengthens Budapest Airport’s Far East network, which now includes eight destinations in 2026: Beijing, Xi’an, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing in China, as well as Seoul in South Korea.
