According to news wire MTI, Panyi said those outlays add up to more than HUF 500bn, while 7,000 loan applications for another HUF 300 billion of credit were being assessed and 8,000 applications for HUF 300 bln were in the preliminary stages.
He added that total Home Start applications now stood around 30,000 for credit of more than HUF 1 trillion.
He said the government expected 5,000-6,000 Home Start contracts to be signed each month in the coming period.
Panyi noted that close to half of applications were from married couples. The average age of Home Start borrowers was 34, and 80% were under 40.
Around 38% of applications were for homes in the capital and environs.
The average Home Start loan was for HUF 34 million and resale homes accounted for 90% of purchases.
Panyi said Home Start was expected to generate 50,000-60,000 home sales in the first twelve months, putting around 100,000 young people in their first homes.
He added that first-time buyers now accounted for 40pc of home sales in Hungary, double the rate before the launch of the scheme on September 1.
