Half of the HUF 40 bln allocation for the scheme to advance the electromobility transition has been paid out, supporting the purchase of 5,176 EVs by 4,624 businesses.

The programme is expected to put as many as 10,000 more EVs on local roads.

The number of EVs in Hungary now stands over 90,000. The scheme, funded from the European Union’s REPowerEU, offers businesses grants of between HUF 2.8 mln and HUF 4 mln per vehicle, depending on battery capacity.

It winds up in December.
