The project covers a 27-km stretch of the Csömör (20 km northeast of Budapest) and Gödöllő (30 km northeast) lines and aims to create a barrier-free high-speed rail system to improve access from Budapest’s Districts X, XIV and XVI – as well as nearby suburbs – to the city center.

The procurement includes reviewing prior feasibility and environmental studies and preparing both permitting and construction design documentation, along with a project timeline.

Plans include creating several grade-separated crossings and enhancing transfer options with Metro Line 2.

The existing plans, which are subject to revision, envision an 80-meter-span railway bridge over the intersection at Örs vezér tere.

The selected designer will also assess the potential for extending the Gödöllő line to Hungaroring or adding a branch line in that direction.
