As part of Sziget’s evolving “worlds within the world of Sziget”, Szoho becomes a city within The Island of Freedom: a multicultural melting pot where music, street culture, and creativity collide.

At the heart of Szoho there are several key venues, The Buzz presents a genre-blending mix of local and international music, from indie and alt-pop to world music and crossover acts. At The Buzz, you can catch both up-and-coming and well-known performers like Ekkstacy, who transform personal sorrow into melancholic music that resonates deeply with fans. Last Train will also perform whose music blends their rock roots with a wide range of genres, embracing experimentation and emotional melody. Besides that, also Casey Lowery, Julien Granel and Sofia Isella are visiting The Island of Freedom between August 6 and 11.

Another centerpiece of the district is DropYard, which brings the energy with hip-hop shows and rap concerts, then flips into high-octane nights featuring drum & bass, dubstep, dancehall, reggaeton, and more. Anyone who enjoys the distinctive, gritty sound of UK hip-hop won’t go wrong with Bawo, EV, Feux, Killowen, and Strandz. From the Netherlands, Vunzige Deuntjes is back, with their Soundsystem collective, WEF, and MC Claudio. Expect Belgian beats from Peet, smooth French flows from Davodka and Theodora, and a one-of-a-kind Algerian flair from Djam & Timoh.

Building on the raw street energy that pulses through Sziget, this year introduces The Cypher — a standalone stage fully dedicated to breakdance and hip-hop culture. Meanwhile, The Joker adds a playful twist to the Island: by day, it’s a vibrant board games café where Szitizens can challenge each other at chess, RISK, Rubik’s cubes and more; by night, it transforms into a sharp comedy and spoken word stage, featuring international comedians (formerly hosted at Magic Mirror) led by Dave Thompson, and a daily slam poetry program in collaboration with Underground Slam Academy.

All of this unfolds in Szoho — Sziget’s new buzzing city district. Packed with pop-up street performers, tattoo artists, skate culture, a barber, and even on-the-spot makeup sessions. It’s like city strolling on the Island: a slice of Budapest brought to life within the festival, where Szitizens can recharge, be entertained, and gear up for the night without ever leaving the festival.
