Hungary’s deputy state secretary Veronika Varga-Bajusz and Slovakia’s state secretary Robert Zsembera discussed at the meeting held at the Selye János University topical issues in education, EU education, strengthening bilateral cooperation in higher education and boosting experience exchange.
At a joint press conference, Varga-Bajusz said that she gave Zsembera an outline of Hungary’s financing model introduced a couple of years ago for universities based on their performance as well as the strategic partnership model which was presented to the other member states during Hungary’s EU presidency in the second half of last year.
She said they agreed on plans to set up a joint Hungarian-Slovak education working group.
“We will establish a joint working group as we consider it important to create a forum for our universities, accreditation agencies, and quality assurance professionals to hold consultations, exchange experiences, and work together in the future,” Varga-Bajusz added.
Zsembera confirmed the setting up of the working group, adding that it could be formed as soon as next month and with its members meeting at least every six months.
