Supreme Court upholds decision acknowledging Emfesz ownership change
Hungary’s Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a decision by the Budapest Municipal Court of Appeals acknowledging a change of ownership at Hungarian gas trader Emfesz, the company told MTI.
Emfesz CEO Istvan Góczi, availing of an earlier authorization, sold the company to RosGas, a Russian-owned company registered in Switzerland, for a token price of $1, in May 2009.
The case was brought by Mabofi Holdings, a company held by the Ukrainian businessman Dmitry Firtash, the owner of Emfesz’s former parent company.
