Morawiecki admitted that in many industries, the restrictions imposed in autumn and winter forced restrictions or almost complete stagnation of business activities. "Therefore, we have made a decision to grant a non-returnable subsidy of up to PLN 5,000 (EUR 1,105) to micro and small companies (SMEs) for December, January and February," Morawiecki said in a video posted on social media.
He added the government would allocate between PLN 2.5 billion and PLN 3 billion in total (EUR 552-663 million) to extend help for 48 sectors hit by the coronavirus crisis. Morawiecki also mentioned that to date, the government has earmarked more than PLN 175 billion in aid to Polish firms affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
