According to the Ministry of Health, EUR 1.9 million is intended for the rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients to speed up their return to normal lives.
Experience shows that people who suffered medium to severe COVID-19 infections continue suffering different lingering health problems after recovery – exhaustion, pain, shortness of breath, reduced endurance, sleep disruption, seizures, etc, the ministry said, adding these lasting consequences are a serious problem.
At the same time, the government's financing will also help improve the accessibility of rehabilitation services for other residents who require it and residents whose ability to receive services has been severely limited because of the pandemic lately.
