Some 1,200 U.K. Nationals have already applied but there are still many who need to before the deadline, the British Embassy in Hungary tells the Budapest Business Journal.
“With just one month until the deadline, ensuring you have applied for residency is a matter of urgency in order to protect your rights to live in Hungary and your future," says Paul Fox, British Ambassador to Hungary. “Those of who have British friends, neighbors or family members who arrived in Hungary before January 1, should ask them whether they have applied and, if not, encourage them to start the process now.”

Since the Brexit referendum, the British Embassy in Hungary has been running a range of activities to encourage U.K. nationals to apply for residency such as town hall meetings, Q&As, and social media adverts, in addition to a media campaign run by the U.K. Government to promote actions that U.K. nationals living in Europe need to take.
