Szijjártó met with Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar and his Argentine counterpart, Hector Timerman at the 2015 summit between the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the ministry said.

Szijjártó said the Hungarian governmentʼs aim is to ensure that Hungary profits from Latin Americaʼs economic and social developments. The minister said Eximbank has opened a $300 mln line of credit for Hungarian companies doing business in Colombia and a $20 mln line of credit to help Hungarian businesses in Argentina.

The ministry expressed its support of the free trade agreement between the EU and Colombia and urged the acceleration of free trade talks between the EU and Mercosur. The ministry noted that Budapest will host the second Hungary-Latin America business forum in October.
