Regarding Hungary’s neighbor to the northeast, Szijjártó reportedly said that the government is seeking an economically and politically stable Ukraine, which respects the rights of minorities. The two statesmen agreed that the Ukrainian situation has brought up challenges that need to be addressed in order to maintain European energy security.

Regarding the government’s efforts to prevent Norway Grants from going to Hungarian NGOs that government officials oppose as being pro-leftist, Szijjártó reportedly emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency for public funds.

As for Hungarian-US economic relations, the Fidesz official reportedly noted that American companies have created 90,000 jobs in the country.
