Hungary is looking at the opportunity to export agricultural goods to Russia through non-EU countries such as Serbia. There are currently 500 Hungarian-Serbian joint-venture companies and negotiations have already taken place to increase that number, the state secretary said.
Other paths to Russia could be established via Turkey and China, he added. The government is also seeking alternative markets for Hungarian apples that would have been exported to Russia, had the sanctions not been imposed.
