EU

Another EUR 445 million of Hungary's European Union funding for the 2021-2027 budget period arrived on Tuesday, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said in a message posted on social media, state news wire MTI writes.

Varga said EUR 240 mln of the funding would go toward transport developments and EUR 205 mln would be used in the framework of an economic development and innovation program.

He noted that Hungary had received EUR 779.5 mln of its REPowerEU funding days earlier.

More than EUR 10 bln of Hungary's Cohesion Policy funding was recently unlocked after the country implemented reforms to address concerns over the independence of its judiciary.
