The drive was extended for a third week from its launch on November 22.
During the campaign, people may visit any hospital vaccination center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to get a jab without registering or making an appointment. Gulyás said about 100,000 people were inoculated every day during the first week of the drive.
He added that the number has tapered to about half that in the second week, but is still well over the pre-drive number of injections. Gulyás said the operative corps coordinating Hungary's response to the pandemic would weigh making the validity of immunity certificates conditional on booster jabs.
He added that people inoculated in the spring who haven't had a booster jab would be sent emails encouraging them to do so.
Gulyás said two million jabs of the Pfizer COVID vaccine for children aged 5-11 will arrive in Hungary in the week starting December 13.
