Czomba said on public television that the new scheme could contribute to the construction of hostels with 3,500 beds.
He noted that similar programs had supported the construction of hostels with 4,000 beds with HUF 24 bln in subsidies since 2017. In the new scheme, half of the beds in the hostels must go to Hungarian workers, unless companies can show that conditions don't allow that requirement to be met, he added.
Companies that win grants for the hostels must commit to operating them for a period of 10 years.
