The program will aim to boost SME performance, pave the way for potential exporters and enhance SME participation in the supply chain.
Developments at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, which was recently returned to the state's ownership, will be the focus of the tourism program.
Raising the number of annual passengers at the airport to 20 million presents an "enormous opportunity" for the sector, Nagy said. The plan will also involve measures to boost tourism in areas other than the capital.
Nagy noted that the government aimed to raise the number of guest nights spent at tourism accommodation in Hungary to 50 million by 2030 while boosting the sector's contribution to GDP from 10% to 16%.
