Real Net Wage in Romania Rises in February

Romania's average net monthly wage rose by a real 6.5% year-on-year in February, following a 6.3% gain in January, the Bucharest-based National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in a statement on Friday.

On a monthly comparison basis, the real net wage decreased by 0.5% in February. In nominal terms, the average net monthly wage rose by 14.2% on the year in January, while adding 0.3% on the month, to RON 4,876 (EUR 981).

In February, the computer programming, consultancy and related activities sector reported the highest average net wage at RON 11,297 (EUR 2,270), while the lowest net average wage of RON 2,729 (EUR 548) was recorded in the manufacture of apparel.
