According to a statement by the authority, inspectors found violations in 20% of cases and imposed fines totaling over HUF 80 million.

In addition to immediate penalties, serious offenders may also face subsequent tax audits. NAV inspections focused on whether traders and service providers issued invoices or receipts for income, declared employees properly, and complied with rules for selling excise goods.

Most violations were related to receipt issuance and employment declarations.

Despite the doubling of the fine for non-compliance since August last year, it is now HUF 2 mln, many businesses continue to take the risk, NAV noted.
