The collected amount is about 17.2% more than the taxes collected the previous year, and HUF 2.5 billion more than budgeted for, the yearbook notes.
The significant surplus is partly due to the higher-than-expected performance of employment-related taxes, such as wage growth exceeding forecasts and favorable labor market trends, the higher-than-expected inflation and internal consumption trajectory, in which the VAT appropriation was exceeded by HUF 1.373 tln, and the 2022 tax measures.
