Latvia producer inflation at fresh record

Producer prices in Latvia climbed to an all-time high of 27% year-on-year in January from 25.1% in the previous month, figures from the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) showed.

Across different industries, prices rose for all sectors: utilities (68.7%); mining and quarrying (17%); manufacturing (19.6%); and water supply, sewerage, and waste management (29.2%).

Prices for domestically sold products advanced 34.6% and prices for export goods increased 20.5%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices surged 2.5% in January, accelerating from a 1.6% rise in December.
